Preliminary Count - Beth Edmonds Wins

November 5, 2002

State Senator Beth Edmonds won another two year term with 53% of the vote or 987 votes. Today, Edmonds expressed sincere thanks to those who voted for her and to her campaign. She said "Everyone of you has been key to this victory and I send you my deepest gratitude. In spite of all the negative attacks at the very end, voters in District 23 came out in great support. It is still not clear if the Democrats have retained majority in the Maine Senate but regardless I am eager to go back up there and do right for the people." Edmonds returns to Augusta immediately to complete work on significant issues at the Maine State Senate for the remainder of this session.
